Sunshine Second Anniversary Today @ 4PM (PDT) on Luxuria!

Yes, it is Monday once again and I bring you news of the newest edition of my Internet radio program, "Come To The Sunshine," episode #48.

Today's show is very special for me because it marks the two year mark of when I started this unlikely venture. I never thought I would come so far with this thing and how much it would come to mean to me. Over the last two years, I've spun nearly 2000 songs by more than 500 different artists, mostly from vinyl, mostly in mono and mostly to the detriment of all my free time! Nevertheless, I have been a very proud presenter of this, the music that means so very much to me. A big thank you to everyone who has taken the time to listen and help over these 50 some concept shows - I truly appreciate you being there to share.

"Come To The Sunshine" celebrates Sal Valentino's Birthday with a Beau Brummels Spectacular!

Submitted by cometothesunshine on Sun, 09/07/2008 - 19:10.
  • DJs

This Monday is the birthday of one of the great singers of the 1960s (and beyond): Sal Valentino. With his band, the Beau Brummels, he pioneered the folk-rock sound (scoring two hits before the Byrds even registered with "Mr. Tambourine Man"), country-rock with the ground breaking Bradley's Barn album, not to mention so much majestic, symphonic rock on Triangle.

In honor of this occasion, I have an all new episode of "Come To The Sunshine" (#47) planned for Monday (September 8th) which celebrates Sal and the Brummels starting at 4PM (PDT). We'll hear all the hits and misses, plus plenty of rarities (as well as a set of covers from the Everly Brothers, Harpers Bizarre, The New Breed and Gloria Tracy). If you are a Brummels fan you won't want to miss this one!

Please join me if you can,

Come To The Sunshine in the Springtime!

Submitted by cometothesunshine on Tue, 04/08/2008 - 08:09.
  • DJs

Friends & Listeners:

I am just getting into my personal spring break, which means lots of refilling of Sunshine 45's and LP's. However, I will still be on every Monday with rebroadcasts of some of my favorite "Come To The Sunshine" shows on www.luxuriamusic.com from 4 to 6PM (PST).

Even better, Luxuria will be playing "Come To The Sunshine" every Sunday at an hour that many of you East Coasters, Europeans and worker bees (like me) can finally hear it (without breaking any rules).

Tune in to "Come To The Sunshine" on Sundays at 7AM this spring. (That is 10AM EST and roughly 3PM or so in Europe - depending on where our daylight savings puts you). My show is followed by other great '60s oriented programs:

10AM - Riot On Sunset Strip hosted by Domenic Priore
12PM - Pepperland Spicerack hosted by Kristian Hoffman
