Atomic Cocktail’s  Second Annual

Dylan Birthday Special - May 19!

Andy McKaie

Andy McKaie - The Caravan
Thursdays - 4 - 5 PM PT

Now safely ensconced in retirement after 40 years in the record/music business, Andy McKaie hosts The Caravan, a highly eclectic, hour-long, usually single themed show. Each show is distinct from the other. Sometimes music-based, sometimes lyric-based. Sometimes various artists, sometimes single artists.

Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and Randy Newman have been celebrated by mostly other artists singing their songs – Dylan three times. Arthur Alexander and Bobby Charles split an hour, as did Billie Holiday and Louis Armstrong as well as Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe. There was a show celebrating New York City doo wop, while New Orleans has had two shows, one about the town’s entire musical heritage and another strictly about early ‘60s R&B. Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Otis Rush, and Big Mama Thornton had shows, as did Lou Reed, Rhiannon Giddens, Van Morrison, Dion, Clyde McPhatter, and Chuck Berry. We’ve done four doo wop, two folk-rock, a blues-rock, a jazz singing and a punk show, as well as a show featuring songs about the record business and a show featuring artists who created the legend of CBGB’s, the grungy New York nightclub. You never know what each successive week’s The Caravan will bring.

"Barn-burner" edition of ATOMIC COCKTAIL set for May 21!
What host Vic Tripp describes as a "barn burner" edition of ATOMIC COCKTAIL is set to ignite this Thursday, May 21, from 5 to 6 pm California time on Luxuria. In addition to music from such Frostbite 5000 music-survey acts as the Tams, Turtles and Tina Robin, this live program will feature the world premiere of a "mystery track" (by a celebrated pop artist) from the forthcoming rock opera I Sold Out, a Top Tune of the Day by Jack Sheldon, plus the return of the Action House Chat Quiz, in which Chat-room visitors will compete live to answer a question of grave social concern. "This one has everything," says Tripp. "My only hope is that we can get it all in in just one hour. Because I try to make it to Burger King by 6:30."
