How many of these industrial musical albums do you guys have? Can there be a compilation made? I heard that line about RTV in that GE Silicone song and about fell off my chair

This is something I always wanted to do -- I'm glad I got it out of my system.... If you are interested in copies, maybe we could do a trade via postal mail. I would want you to send me some music in exchange (perhaps a compilation of your favorite music in some genre, or something.) Anyway, here are the track lists:

If you notice anything egregiously missing, let me know. Chances are I either didn't have space for it, don't own a copy of it, or didn't know about it. (I already realize that Arling & Cameron's "Racing Down the Highway" song is missing, but I don't have that album.) If you have other ideas about what constitutes the "best of" Luxuria, by all means, make your own best-of compilation(s) and send me a copy!
If you want to trade for these CDs, please email me. I am a very reliable trader....
I was browsing a magazine about soundtrack music in Tower Records the other day. It had an article about the best/worst soundtracks in 2003. They wrote that the soundtrack for "Johnny English" (the spy spoof starring the Mr. Bean guy) was "the best non-James Bond James Bond soundtrack of all time" or something like that. Apparently the music is very, very good and evocative of early John Barry..... Anybody heard it yet? Sounds like something that could have playability on Luxuria....
Mommy - who are the Standells? My husband says they're the group that took over the Munster's house when they went on vacation for a few days and that they were always the group that had to rely on the good citizens of televisionland to hide out on. (like Dick Van Dyke's house one time and Gidget Lawrences on another occasion.) I'm so confused.

I can't believe there's not a single LP of theirs on CD... same seems to be true of April Orchestra of France, which was also mucho funk in the mid 1970s.
Any special shows happening on the site on the weekends? I know I've mentioned this before, but I REALLY miss Psychadelic Beach Party on Sundays!!! Any such thing happening or in the works?
This week's Space Patrol is #34. In two weeks after that, in Space Patrol #36, you can hear Lee and Nancy's cover of "Greenwich Village Folk Song Salesman."

Back when Luxuria was playing on Live 365 they cycled the same program loops for some time. One of those programs played this song sung by someone with a high voice with the word "deep in the tunnel of love." Anybody know the song and artist? I'm looking to find this one. Thanks!
If any one has access to it, there's a very Lux-worthy spoken word LP from the '60s called 'An Open Letter to my Teenage Son" in which a father (Victor Lundberg) rants about the Flower Power and Viet Nam protesters and warns his kid that if he burns his draft card he might as well burn his birth certificate too - "because from that moment on, I have no son!" All while trying to sound like Robert Young on Father Knows Best. Inspired lunacy.

Hmmm....that's rather unique, to say the least. I think I actually rather like it, but I'm sure it would make Buddy Morrow spin in his grave, except so far as I know, he's not dead.
As near as I can tell, the current playlist is about 1/2 Chuck... maybe 3/5ths Chuck; another 1/3 or 1/5 Cliff... and the rest me. Chuck uses his records. I have no records but I use a few CDs and the rest are ILL GOTTEN FILE SHARES!! No they're not. No, I bought them all. That's right. I bought them all twice.
Yes, and often times it may transpire that music you wish to purchase comes from a country in The Coalition of The Unwilling, or even the traitorous, seditious French themselves, making the music even more difficult to find in the DC area, let alone to discuss product availability with a presumably PATRIOTIC merchant.

Of course, if more of you would buy The Free Design CD's and records we have for sale, we might be able to get a better idea of what the market is for this kind of stuff.

Buying Luxy CDs
Thanks, Chuck. I have to confess that I hadn't really considered buying the Free Design CD till last night, when I heard "Kites are Fun" again and remembered how good it was.
My preference these days is for compilation CDs that gather the best stuff together, rather than listening to originals in their entirety. (Yes, I know, I'm a heretic.) LL = Curious Female
LL - We're looking into releasing a number of lux related records, including The Curious Female. The question is how many of you would be willing to buy our records? Of course, if more of you would buy The Free Design CD's and records we have for sale, we might be able to get a better idea of what the market is for this kind of stuff.
According to a friend of mine "in the know", just a few years ago you could be guaranteed that you'd sell at least 5000 copies of any given soundtrack release. And now with the sucky economy and digital downloads the number is down at around 1500 copies. We dont want to get into the bootleg business 1) cuz we dont want to get sued (we cant afford it), and 2) "friends of lux" like Carol Kaye, Stu Phillips, Earl Palmer, etc dont get paid for these illegitimate releases, and we dont want to rip these people off. So the question is... how many of you would be willing to buy a fair priced CD release...like at around $14.98. Any takers out there?
And congrats on the new girlfriend!
