Who remembers those glorious hazy crazy days back when Luxuria was a real physical world radio station with real DJ's? Who remembers those wild and boozy years when Bill Clinton was the President and Luxuria was rolling in internet boom cash? Who remembers the sultry siren seductive voice of Marianne Ferrari? The way-out wacky shows of Byron Werner? The guilty decadence of the Millionaire? If you remember like I do, please post your anecdotes here.

Chat Room Follies

Back when Lux was young, it was as much about the people as it was the music. The chat room (coupled with the webcam stream) was the place to be. There were many days when I logged on when I got to work in the morning, stayed there until I left for home, then logged in when I got home and stayed there again until I fell asleep. You felt "connected" to the station then... not only the DJ's but the other regular posters. I see some of the old familiar screennames still posting, but there's nothing like real-time conversations with other fans of the music and the station. I even booked a ticket from Philly to LA for the big party, but never made the flight. I still wish I had gotten to meet Val, Mill, Eric, Chuck, and all the others who built the station. And Happy Birthday to Lux5000.
